OVERVIEW

Medinas, mountains and the edge of the Sahara

Spice-scented souks, riad courtyards and desert camps under a sky full of stars, all within a few hours of each other.

About this destination

Morocco packs an unusual amount of variety into a short distance. Marrakech is colour and noise, with riad courtyards that go silent the moment you step inside. Fes keeps its medieval medina almost unchanged, and the blue lanes of Chefchaouen feel like another country entirely.

Between the cities, the landscape does the work. The Atlas Mountains offer village walks and mint tea with local families, while the road south leads through kasbahs and palm valleys to the dunes of the Sahara, where a night in a private camp is the highlight of many trips.

The best way to see Morocco is with someone who knows it well. Our local hosts take care of the haggling, the timing and the introductions, so you can focus on the food, the crafts and the people.
