Inside the London desk

INSIDE THE STUDIO

The room itself.

The room itself.

London opened in 2016 above a gallery on Grosvenor Street, and now carries the studio’s Europe and Africa planning. Four designers work from one long room, under a wall of maps that has deliberately not been updated since 2019.

Because it sits between the Gulf and the Americas, London tends to catch a problem first — a cancelled ferry in Naples at breakfast, a missed connection out of New York at dusk. Most of what it fixes never reaches the traveller.

The entrance is the black door beside the gallery. Ring the middle bell and somebody will come down.
